Activities in 200 - 2003
- Conducted 18 training classes in Enugu branch and 23 in Awka in 2002 (girls from different schools).
- Opened our Lagos office and visited schools in Lagos.
- Ran programs on women’s participation in politics in Anambra State in conjunction with WDPC Awka.
- Conducted an end of year (2002) Arts Exhibition for 60 girls.
- Conducted 22/23 fourth nightly training classes in Anambra and Enugu States respectively in 2003– On capacity building programs, leadership skills, the health and hygiene of the girl child for girls of 8 – 18 years.
- GCAF conducted 2 gallery visits by members in Enugu, Anambra and Lagos states to enable them expand their knowledge and creative strength (April 2003).
- Conducted a training each in 15 Local Government Areas as an extension of training of trainers done by a coalition of Eastern NGO’s in Anambra State on women’s civic rights (March 2003).
- Ran a project titled “Agenda 2003”and produced a blue print for Good Governance and women participation through our networking project in Anambra State (Feb. 2003)
- 2003 Rural women’s Day (theme: The Importance of Information technology to Development) this was also conducted by the coalition of CENGOS on the 3rd November.
- Rehearsals for 44 primary schools and secondary schools in Anambra ,Ebonyi and Enugu States by professionals and refreshments for the girls (8 – 18 years) in preparation for the Inauguration of the First part of the VONG PROJECT. Exhibited 306 visual works, performing Art – (Dance, Drama, and Song) with expressions on the view of the Nigeria girl to the happenings in her society and the environment ranging from her education to health and hygiene. It also showcases their abilities and gives them a sense of importance.
- A magazine on the VONG phase1 was produced.
